Audio conference calls are widely used these days to increase a business’ productivity, as well as its market sales. This technology is applicable to businesses that have a need for a multi-party telephone conversation. Audio conference calls make it possible for an executive to confer with their colleagues in different places and different countries even, all at the same time. Audio and web conferencing is usually used during a multinational firm’s quarterly or year-end meetings.

Make an audio conference call checklist with all the required information and material to ensure that the conference will go smoothly. Make sure that you have listed all required attendees and have confirmed their availability. You have to make sure that participants have the dial-in number and their respective password as well.

For participating in the conference you need to dial in the conferencing bridge number and enter the corresponding pass codes followed by #. This will let you into the conference and if you entered the conferee code then you cannot do anything unless the moderator code is punched in. The moderator will be acting as the administrator and he will have the complete control over the conference.

Making a conference is so easy by means of conferencing call. The procedure is so simple and there is also no need of any extra equipment for this. So that any one can get adjusted to it easily. If you would like to know more then contact us for more information.

Organizing a meeting is quite simple these days. The face to face meetings have been replaced by audio conference calls. These calls have so many advantages when compared to a normal face to face meeting. But for conducting an audio conference call you have to do some home work before it.

You have to make a list of all the topics that you intend to discuss during the conference and plan it accordingly with the time to be spent for that particular one and follow it strictly. The person who will be logging into the conference by punching in the moderator code will act as the moderator and he has the complete control over the conference.

Before you proceed with audio conference calling you need to have a permanent dial in number, a moderator code and conferee code, which are must to make a conference call. You have to pass on the corresponding codes to all the participants with the codes and the time of the conference.

The methods in which you set up a conference call vary between the different service providers you use, and what type of conference call you are using. There are three main types of conference calls.

The most common conference call is reservationless conference calls. The name itself tells you that it is a reservation less call and there is no need for you to book the conference call in advance. Operator assisted conference calls lets you have an operator on hand for things such as recording the conversation, using moderator commands such as sub conferencing and broadcasting, and monitoring the conference overall. Operator dialed conference calls allow for more interaction with the individual members of the call. The operator will dial out to each participant at your reserved time, and add them manually into the conference.

Who told that audio conferencing services are only for business people? I can tell you of a family which got benefited a lot by using audio conferencing services. I grew up in a small village near to Bangalore. Ours is a big family and my father is a farmer. Like my brothers, and sisters, I went away to college and never moved back home. Now we’re scattered all over the country and world. We all keep in touch, though, mostly by e-mail. Sometimes we have e-mail conversations that last for weeks on a particularly hottopic such as should my dad were in need of some money for buying a new hay baler to replace the old one that always keeps breaking down.

Not only for this particular one we were in touch to discuss many things which related to our family. As we were busy with our daily work we were not able to go and visit our parents quite regularly. So to keep in touch with them we used to contact them by means of the mails or by phone. Two years ago, we had a health-related crisis in my family that lasted for several months. Everything is fine now, but at the time, we had a lot of issues to discuss, decisions to make, and emotional support to provide. E-mail was indispensable for this, but there were times when we all just needed to be able to talk together.

At that time my family friend suggested me to use conferencing service for communicating. But I had a doubt regarding that as my father is not so educated like us and we were in doubt will he able to adjust to that. That too as he is a farmer he cannot carry the set every time to where ever he goes. But luckily I came across a company called Eagle Conferencing, which is newly established into the market of conferencing world. Their procedure of participating in a conference is as simple as making a call and the billing is also done on a monthly basis at a flat rate providing reservation less conferences.

Even they were good I did not trust them right away. I wanted to check with them so I asked them if they have any trial type of service so that I can check out whether it is comfortable for me to use it. Surprisingly they have a free trial which I took and I was very much pleased by the type of service they provide.

With the help of audio conferencing services I was able to resolve the problem and we were able to keep in touch in a much easier and comfortable manner. Since then when ever we want to speak to each other we started using their service. It was cheaper as well as easier to use. That too I never made a call to them after making the registration and started using the conference when ever we want either it might be early in the mornings or late in the nights. We’ve started recording the calls so those who can’t participate in a call can listen to it later, if they want. We’ve never had any technical problems, and the sound quality is excellent.

My point here is that you don’t have to be a business to benefit from audio conferencing. You can use it to stay in touch with friends and family, crisis or no crisis. And now that audio conferencing services are main stream, it probably doesn’t cost as much as you think. The methods in which you set up a conference call vary between the different service providers you use, and what type of conference call you are using. There are three main types of conference calls.

  • Reservationless conference calls.
  • Operator assisted conference calls.
  • Operator dialed conference calls.

The most common conference call is reservationless conference calls. The name itself tells you that it is a reservation less call and there is no need for you to book the conference call in advance. You simply get a number and access code(moderator code), as well as a separate access code(conferee code) for the other people that you want to participate in the conference call. All you need to do is to call the number, enter your access code, and then have the other callers call in and use their own access code.

Operator assisted conference calls lets you have an operator on hand for things such as recording the conversation, using moderator commands such as sub conferencing and broadcasting, and monitoring the conference overall. This tends to be a bit more expensive, and requires reservations a certain time in advance. The exact amount of time varies from service to service.

Operator dialed conference calls allow for more interaction with the individual members of the call. The operator will dial out to each participant at your reserved time, and add them manually into the conference. This is a great service for people who are not used to conference calls. Also, if you need additional services such as translation, recording, or other added features, the operator is on hand to provide those.

Audio conferencing, in its basic sense, is a telephone call in which three or more persons located in two or more places converse together. Speaker phones and related accessories are often used to extend the reach and participation of an audio conference.

Audio conferences can often replace time-consuming and expensive travel. Instead of spending time making reservations and waiting to board planes in airports, employees need only pick up their phones to communicate easily and cost-effectively with groups of people, wherever they are located. Telecommuting becomes more popular, with more and more people working out of their homes instead of at the office, audio conferencing has become indispensable.

Audio conferencing can be conducted and operated and from staying any where. There is no need for any equipment or any internet connection for continuing with the service. Just a basic telephone line connection is enough. You also dial in by means of using a mobile phone also. So by means of this you can attend a conference even while you are in travelling or at home.

With operator assisted conference service, an operator is on hand to place calls to participants and to help manage the conference call, from the beginning roll call to wrap-up reporting. Due to the easiness to use this is gaining its popularity among companies and business around the world.

Some of the common operator assisted services requested by the customer include: operator dial out (to bring participants into the call), call introductions, question/answer moderator, live call monitoring (to assist with trouble shooting, answering questions, etc), roll call, translation services, post call close, faxing/emailing documents to participants and much more.

If you're looking for a variety of Audio conferencing services, we can help you with those as well. Let us know what your needs are, and our consultants can craft the conferencing solution that fits your budget and your business requirements.

Audio conferencing, in its basic sense, is a telephone call in which three or more persons located in two or more places converse together. Speaker phones and related accessories are often used to extend the reach and participation of an audio conference. There are four basic types of audio conferencing services available: dial-in, dial-out, reservation less and operator-assisted.

  • Dial-In Conferencing Service - This type of service simply involved participants dialing a pre-designated telephone number allocated to them while they are making the registration. Once the access number dialed, participants needs to enter a pass codes and then enter the conference. There will be two different codes given one will be the moderator code and the other will be the conferee code. With out these codes no one can enter into the conference. Moderator will be acting as a main person and the conference will not start until the moderator code is punched in. so he takes the role of an administrator and he ahs the complete control over the conference.
  • Dial-Out Conferencing Service – This type of service comes into consideration or use when the company people don’t want their clients to pay anything for attending the conference. If they do not want the clients to pay bill then the conference call providers can dial out for you but you have to book the mail by sending a mail or calling them one hour in advance and providing them with the numbers you want to dial out for making or planning a conference.
  • Reservationless Conferencing ServiceReservation less conferencing is the most popular type of conferencing used today. This type of conference service is mostly automated. With it, conference can be call at anytime. In this case the lines will be kept separately for particular customers after making the registration. There is no need for making a call and book the conferencing line. This option will only be available with dial in only but not with dial out. This is the best option for marketing or sales companies as in this type of companies there will be sudden fluctuations in the market and no one will be aware of them. So to keep all of them in touch these kinds of conference calls will be a lot helpful.
  • Operator-assisted Conferencing Service - Operator-assisted conferencing provides the most comprehensive support needed for important corporate phone calls like investor relations calls or upper level management meetings. When you want the moderator or the administrator not to take over burden of maintaining the call then you can go for this option. A person will be kept as an administrator and will be controlling the conference.

These are some of the advantages you will be getting by means of using Audio Conferencing services. If you're looking for a variety of Audio conferencing services, we can help you with those as well. For those of you who aren't aware, IP relay allows deaf people or speechless persons to use a computer or cell phone to make phone calls to hearing people. Unlike traditional relay, which requires special equipment (usually a TTY), IP relay allows anyone with access to the internet to make calls. The main reason why every one should be aware of this technology is to make sure that when any deaf or disabled person who is trying to be in touch with you for the sake of some information. You should be ready to provide service for them instead of saying that I do not know how to use and what this kind of service is!

Let me tell you of a practical example which happened lively. All Samson wanted to ask about the status of his account details. But Samson was deaf and was not able to speak to the concerned person directly. So he used the help of video relay system. It enabled him to see and speak in sign language with an operator, who then spoke verbally to the other person. It sounds simple.

But the other person at the company didn't know what a relay call was.

So when Samson, through the operator, gave his account number and question, she was transferred around and then put on hold. Then he was told that the company would not process the call as it was not legal to give other account details to the third person. He lost his patience and temper and again forced the other person to get the work done or else connect him to the manager so that he can speak to him to get his concern completed.

So after a huge discussion he was transferred to the manager and he spoke to him finally and educated him about the relay call. Finally, the manager came to know the usage and importance of the relay calls and he ordered the concerned person to take the call. It took nearly one hour for one simple question due to the unawareness of the relay calls and the procedure.

This is the common situation which generally hearing impaired or speechless persons will be facing when they try to use relay calls with the persons who are not aware of it. So I would like to try to make an attempt to educate people on what relay calls are actually and why are they used instead of nor mal phone calls.

There are many companies in the market which are trying to make profit by providing relay services. Instead there are companies which are providing the service for free of cost out of charity. So if you want to use relay call service check with all the types and also with the link which I provided you in this blog to know some more details regarding the relay call providers.

Hello everybody, I would like to tell you some of the basic services which are available to the deaf and speechless people. These are the different type of service which they can use depending upon their requirement and necessity for communicating with others. The basic definitions and the way they work is in illustrated below.

VOICE CARRY OVER Relay (VCO) is for people who are deaf or hard of hearing but who wish to speak through the telephone receiver directly to and be heard by the other party. The relay operator types what is said by the other party and the VCO user reads it on his or her TTY. The conversation continues back and forth this way until both parties conclude the call.

2-LINE VCO RELAY (2LVCO) is similar to the above but uses two telephone lines: One is used with a TTY for incoming text from the relay operator to the VCO user, and the other line is used for voice from the VCO user who speaks directly to the other party. The line used for voice needs to have conferencing or three-way calling capability from the telephone company.

HEARING CARRY OVER Relay (HCO) is for people who can hear but who have difficulty speaking clearly but wish to hear the other party directly. The HCO user types on a TTY what he or she wishes to say and this is spoken by the relay operator to the other party. The conversation continues back and forth this way until both parties conclude the call.

Speech to Speech Relay Service makes it possible for people who can hear but who have a speech disability to carry on a telephone conversation with anyone they might wish to communicate. Some STS users communicate with a voice synthesizer or voice enhancer device. As needed, a specially trained STS Relay Operator re-voices what is being said by the STS user. The STS user hears the other party's voice directly. The conversation continues back and forth this way until both parties conclude the call. No special telephone equipment is required.

Internet Relay Service is a Web-based relay service. Text-users who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech disabled can initiate a relay call by connecting with an Internet Relay Operator who, in turn, dials the phone number of the other party to be called. The conversation between the text-user and the other party continues back and forth until both conclude the call.

Video Relay Service (VRS) makes use of a web cam and the Internet, or a videophone and high speed Internet access. A Relay Operator/Interpreter fluent in sign language can see and be seen by the calling party. VRS is often preferred by people who wish to use sign language and/or lip read the relay operator. The Video Interpreter relays conversations back and forth between VRS users and people who use standard telephones until both parties conclude the call.

These are some of the relay call services which will be helpful for the hearing impaired or speechless ones in communicating.

Hearing inability or speaking inability is not a disability these days. We can say shortly that these people will only be not able to hear the dogs barking at them. Even the gap between them and the normal ones has been reduced a lot with the help of help of so many helping equipment and the services provided by many people.

Some people will be using TTY’s for communicating with others. These TTY’s will be acting as a telephone line connection between the two persons. These are some of the basic short cut definitions which they use while communicating with others by means of using a TTY.

GA "Go Ahead" it is your turn to type

SK "Stop Keying" (end of conversation)

GA or SK Completing all messages and getting ready to hang up

Q or QQ Question mark in lieu of question symbol (?)

SKSK Hanging up

TTY Term for text telephone, teletype (most commonly used term)

TDD Telecommunication device for the deaf

XXX Erasing a typing error

VCO Voice Carry Over

HCO Hearing Carry Over

RO Relay Operator

CA Communication Assistant

BKGD Background noise description (e.g., baby crying, dog barking, TV noise)

But now days the market is still ahead of TTY’s. Relay calls have been introduced into the market and they have been a rebellion in the market. They are able to provide the service in much better means than any other. There are different types of relay call services now available in the market. The basic principle how these relay calls are going to operate is like this.

IP relay allows deaf people or speechless persons to use a computer or cell phone to make phone calls to hearing people.

Video Relay Services (VRS) is a service which allows a caller to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL), using video conferencing equipment, to a sign language interpreter who voices (using spoken English) the signed message to a hearing telephone user. The interpreter then relays the voice message back to the caller using sign language.

VRS is faster than a traditional TTY relay call. We can reduce half of the time which we are going to spend on traditional TTY’s by using VRS services. For many deaf or hard of hearing people, ASL is a more natural way to communicate than with a traditional TTY relay service. Here in VRS the people will be able to see the other person and can be able to talk directly with the other person. And that too the internet connectivity will also be good so only there will not be any problem in using the video relay services. Some people will not be able to remember the codes like HCO, RO, CA etc., which are the shortcuts or abbreviations for using a TTY.

Here in video relay service there will not be any problem as they will be directly communicating with the others as if they are speaking to a person directly. The only difference is that they will be able to see them on a computer screen. And also the screen will be of much bigger size than the TTY’s and so he can have a better conversation or see how the other person is responding to his query.

There are two ways for a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person to make a VRS call. One way is through a home computer with a web cam and a high–speed Internet connection. The other is through a Call Center. Communication Access Center (CAC) has established Call Centers at various locations in Michigan. These are listed below.

When the caller connects to the video relay service, a relay interpreter, known as a VRS operator, will appear on the television screen. The VRS operator can see the caller; the caller can see the VRS operator. The caller gives the phone number to the VRS operator to be dialed. Once the hearing person answers, the VRS operator will sign to the deaf or hard of hearing caller that the call was answered. As the caller speaks in sign language, the VRS operator will voice what is said to the hearing person.

All the information which you provide to the relay interpreter will be kept confidential and the service provided to you also will be free of cost.

Telecommunications Relay Services provide people who are deaf or hard of hearing with access to the public telephone network; making their use of the system “functionally equivalent” to the way a hearing person uses the telephone network.

IP Relay allows people who have difficulty hearing or speaking to communicate with anyone in the world through an Internet connection. IP Relay is accessed using a computer and the Internet, rather than a TTY and a telephone. So individuals who use IP Relay do not need to invest in a TTY; they simply use the computer to communicate. When conversing over IP Relay, people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have difficulty speaking can participate in a conference call or go online while holding a conversation.

Relay services allow you to send text to a relay operator who then will call a voice number for you and speak your text for you, and type what the hearing person says to you. Outgoing relay service is the most common, but there are some services that offer incoming relay service where a hearing person can contact you via your pager.

Unlike traditional TRS, where a TTY user contacts a TRS center via telephone lines and the communication assistant (CA) at the TRS center calls the receiving party via voice telephone, the first leg of an IP Relay call goes from the caller's computer, or other Web-enabled device, to the IP Relay Center via the Internet. The IP Relay Center is usually accessed via a Web page. The second leg of the call, as with traditional TRS, is from the CA to the receiving party via voice telephone through the public switched telephone network. The CA can also accept IP relay calls from persons with hard-to-understand speech and repeat the calls in an easily understandable form for the called party.

IP relay is a free service. All you need is a computer or other Web-capable device and an Internet connection. All IP Relay service providers' costs are recoverable from the interstate TRS Fund.

At least 13 small bombs exploded in the Indian city of Ahmadabad on Saturday, killing at least five people and wounding 55, a day after another set of blasts in the country's IT hub, officials said…. Saturday's blasts were in Ahmadabad’s crowded old city dominated by its Muslim community… One television channel showed a bus with its side blown up, shattered windows and the roof half-destroyed.

Ahmadabad is the main city in the communally sensitive and relatively wealthy western state of Gujarat, scene of deadly riots in 2002 in which 2,500 people are thought to have died, most of them Muslims killed by rampaging Hindu mobs.

Some IT companies in Bangalore, known as India's Silicon Valley, were increasing security after bombs went off there. Each bomb had a similar explosive force to one or two grenades. In May, eight bombs killed 63 people in a crowded shopping area in the western city of Jaipur.

These are the news updates when it comes to the serial bomb blasts which happened in Bangalore and Ahmadabad. After this Mr. Kent Charugundla, founder and CEO of Eagle Conferencing said that

“We are very concerned about this unfortunate incidence of bombings and its corresponding effects in society at large in Ahmadabad and Bangalore. It clearly demonstrates need for the business community to reach out to our society,”

Bangalore is the information technology hub of India with more than 40% of the country's IT and software industry based there. A large part of India's IT and outsourcing business is concentrated here. Dozens of large international firms like Microsoft, Intel and IBM also have offices in the city which is often called the Silicon Valley of India.

Due to this the militants have targeted this place a lot. What ever they want they try to cause some damage to this place or to the people here. There have been a number of blasts in Indian cities in recent years.

They are almost always blamed on foreign militants but there have been no significant arrests or convictions in any of the cases. Thank God, luckily loss of life is limited as well as those injured. Is it a signal for worse things to come? Bangalore must guard against the designs of terrorists and anti social elements out to spoil name and fame of the city as the IT Capital of India.

When these blasts occurred many people were not able to communicate with other. Even though each has a phone he was not able to communicate with any one as traffic on the lines was heavy and they were too many incoming and outgoing calls. Many people feel that some thing should be done so that people will be at least able to reach their dear ones at least on phone.

Among them Mr. Kent Charugundla was one and he wanted to help people. He not only thought of helping them but also implemented it also. He is the CEO of Eagle conferencing and he announced that the people and organizations which got affected due to this bomb blasts can use their conferencing services free of cost. This offer is valid until August 30th, 2008. This is the paper statement given by him after the bomb blasts have occurred.

Conferencing options:

Audio conferencing, in its basic sense, is a telephone call in which three or more persons located in two or more places converse together.  Speaker phones and related accessories are often used to extend the reach and participation of an audio conference. There are four basic types of audio conferencing services available: dial-in, dial-out, reservation less and operator-assisted.

·         Dial-In Conferencing Service - This type of service simply involved participants dialing a pre-designated telephone number allocated to them while they are making the registration.

·         Dial-Out Conferencing Service – This type of service comes into consideration or use when the company people don’t want their clients to pay anything for attending the conference. If they do not want the clients to pay bill then the conference call providers can dial out for you but you have to book the mail by sending a mail or calling them one hour in advance and providing them with the numbers you want to dial out for making or planning a conference.

·         Reservationless Conferencing ServiceReservation less conferencing is the most popular type of conferencing used today.

·         Operator-assisted Conferencing Service - Operator-assisted conferencing provides the most comprehensive support needed for important corporate phone calls like investor relations calls or upper level management meetings.

Let us know what your needs are, and our consultants can craft the conferencing solution that fits your budget and your business requirements.
